Charles Spalding address, 1844-1918.

The collection consists of the address, "The Indian difficulties of Georgia" was delivered by Spalding before the Georgia Historical Society in Savannah on 30 March 1844. Defending Georgia in relation to its treatment of the Creek Indians, the address was not printed by the Society. The present copy is a bound typewritten transcript from an unknown original, although two accompanying pieces do shed some light on the origins.
